Help Network issues

It seems that many people on here are having to same trouble I am with the network. It seems like every time I grab my phone I wonder if the network will be up. Is it because of VM or do the other networks... Version At&t etc. have the same problem. If I was paying what the other carriers charge I would be upset with the amount of downtime I have. Anyone come from another carrier and can share their experiences?

In my opinion it has something to do with the phone or firmware itself,i had a Virgin Mobil Blackberry before i got the optimus V,and never had data issues.

A lot of the posts around the Web, and there are a ton, point to improper provisioning within the Sprint/VM network. There are a number of fixes around from hitting the Activate button to pulling the battery...etc. The best way is to make sure the phone is properly provisioned within the Sprint/VM network, which involves getting customer service to submit a trouble ticket their engineering department actually looks at. Their are some VM escalation numbers floating around that get you to actual people that can do something as well, as opposed to the talking heads in Manila.

does this method work for good or after doing this the issue returns, cause i will give it a try, also can you use the phone to call the engineering department the reason i ask is i have no house phone, and any time i call for anything other then paying the bill, they tell me i have to call them from another phone.

Yes...you can call them from the cell...but understand they will reset your phone when the ticket is investigated...and you have to get a trouble ticket done to do that...the regular VM customer service people will have you do the battery pull...etc, that cannot be done while you're on the same phone.

Had problems starting a week ago today. After countless emails (27 to date) back and forth by Friday it started being reliable again. My account had to be reprovisioned, and aside from a lot of going into 1x today been fairly stable.

Their mobile broadband however, is another story and I've dropped that as of today and went with another company.
