Help network location error, htc desire

hi, new to all this so if im repeating something already asked, many apologies.

i have a htc desire, android 2.2, unlocked on 3 mobile in the uk. until about a month ago had no issues at all. now do not seem to be able find my location using the network unless wifi or gps on. all apps with loy location based data work fine when connected to my home network, virginmedia, but not using mobile network.

have done a full reset at mobile companies suggestion, checked location settings et. any help wud be graefully recieved

I've had this happen from time to time, chances are you'd find that if you force it to 2g mode it would locate correctly. It seems to be something to do with the database of mobile phone antenna locations. When it happens to me (usually after upgrading the phone or doing a factory reset) it goes away after a week or so and all is back to normal. Am also on 3 in the UK. Try phoning 3 and asking them for help if you want to waste a whole load of time!

Cheers, 3s advice to rest everything did sweet fa, apart from lose me a load of data!! thanx for the advice, will try a bit of patience.
