Network off with screen

Is there an app that shuts off the network connection when you shut the screen off? I haven't been able to find anything like this..

And BTW, I'm new here...

Juicedefender is the app you're looking for. It lets you switch the internet on depending on a number of things, including whether the screen is on or not. The unpaid version only works on the mobile internet, not wifi, I believe.

Hmm Just read the Reviews a lot of mixed Reviews,

have you had any issues with this program on your Hero ?

THe one concern in the comments that worried me was the guy not able to receive pic messages.

I have never sent/received an MMS, so I can't help you there

Just make sure you have written down/backups of your APNs and you can always put everything back if it doesn't work.
