Help Network setting question

Im new to this whole android thing and have never had a phone that required so much of my time to figure out. So far Im loving this phone and I've got a question hopefully someone can help me out with real quick.

Im checking my settings in attempt to learn all I can and under where it says preferred network, mine is set at global mode. Should I change this? My other listed options are, CDMA Mode and GSM/UMTS Mode.

I would recommend just leaving those alone.

Basically, Global mode is for when you travel to other countries, the phone automatically switches to the GSM antenna to receive service from the VZW GSM network in those countries. It's kinda like global roaming for antennas. If you don't plan on leaving the US anytime soon, you should be able to safely switch to CDMA only (CDMA is the VZW network in the US). Personally I left it. Partially cause I don't travel outside the US ever, and because it's the default.

Thats what I was wondering. I ordered mine online and my came default with Global Mode on. Guess I'll switch it now, thanks.
