Never buy from Google

This has been a nightmare. Had the tab delivered on the 5th Sep - decided by the next morning that it wasn't for me so phoned Google Play store to return. Was duly sent the RMA with the email saying that the required shipping label would be sent within 4 days. By the week later there was nothing so phoned again - was told that my request had been accelerated and got a stock email sent to me. Today - nearly 2 weeks later still nothing so phoned again only to be sent the same stock email but no label. What really annoys me is that they were quick enough to dispatch it to me and take the money from my account but now that I want to return it for a refund no one seems to want to know - and that's even before I have the hassle of getting the money back once they have received the unit - I've read on here people having issues with that too.

Never again

Sorry to hear of your troubles with Google. From the commentary I have seen, Google is overwhelmed dealing with the Nexus 7. I wonder if they are delaying the shipping label, because they would rather you wait for them to catch up on returns with the tablet in your possession, rather than wait with it sitting in their recieving warehouse. Again no excuse, just thinking out loud.

I'm sure you would be able to sell it quick in the classifieds section on here(It'd probably be a lot faster that way rather then return it for a refund!). I've had good luck in the classifieds personally!

I'm not surprised...there have been rumblings about Google being so overwhelmed with the N7 and just not being able to catch up on things. That doesn't sit well with me because if that's true, the next Nexus device, or better yet (devices) are going to be an absolute Horror show! I've been saying it for a while, Google needs to open up flag ship stores in a few big cities like NYC, LA, Chicago, Miami, Atlanta, etc. This nonsense over the phone and them not being able to accommodate customers is getting to be a little long in the tooth.

I bought from google, and my tablet arrived in perfect condition 2 days after!

I had no hardware issues, no shipping damage and no screen lift. I've been very happy with my google experiences but it seems it's not only yourself having troubles with them, it's almost everybody!

I'm sorry to hear about your trouble, hopefully it never happens to yourself or anybody else again!

Your the extremely rare exception to most of the stories we've been hearing lately. But then again, the most stories usually told are the Horror stories, not the good experience ones like yours. Either way, thumbs up to you having no issues.

Thank you, 24/7 panicking and worrying about having to return it must of had an effect :D

Although, from what I have noticed, most people that did have quality issues seemed to either pre-order or order a week or so after release, whereas I ordered around 2-3 weeks after the release. I'm sure that's completely irrelevant, but I thought I'd bring it up anyway.

I must be the luckiest gadget person on the planet. I have had no issues with both my galaxy nexus and nexus 7. None of the weird problems people report, dead pixels, screen separation, bad antenna etc etc etc.

Of course also keep in mind that people mainly post on forums when they have a problem. People spend far less time online posting "everything is perfect, service was wonderful" messages.

Its the nature of people. We like to whine be it justifiable or not. I am no exception. Let me tell you about my city's pathetic mass transit.

My story is exactly the same as sleezecheeze. Two day delivery and zero issues. I've had it about a week and have yet to find any fault.

I ended buying 2 Nexus 7's, one for me and another for a family member and have had zero issues, except now my Razr Maxx just sits idle awaiting a phone call. This really has been a wonderful device.

Count one more here that bought directly through Google, about two weeks after release, and haven't had a single problem. I'm with sprint so I linked my # with Google voice and now I do 90% of stuff on my N7 and it will tell me when a call is coming in and I have to go find my LTEvo.

I am madly in love with this device. I've owned it less than twenty four hours and I doubt I'll ever touch my iPad again. I'm sorry your having troubles and I'm hoping you get a fast return.

Same here, no issues, yet.
Each time I have contacted them, they were very quick to call back or reply.
Ask them to email the shipping label and you print it?

I'm another that has zero problems since having my Nexus 7. I would agree not enough posters tell of the good units.
