Help New 64Gb Oneplus One won't charge

I have had my OnePlus One 64gb phone for about two months and am now experiencing the same charging (or not charging) issue. Has anyone found an easy fix? When plugged in to charge I get nothing on the screen now and if I hold in the power button, the phone vibrates but does not come on or show a charging status. Holding the volume down and power buttons together gets me the vibration but nothing else. The phone gave me the low battery warning last night before I put it on charge and found it would not charge.

I experienced this issue on my first OPO. Finally after a month of waiting my replacement arrived. It was trouble free for a full three weeks, an enjoyable phone. Sadly the same problem returned making it impossible to charge.

Keeping the story of a very long frustrating experience short, just trying to get OnePlus to communicate responsibly was a massive time sink, furthermore getting them to step up and fulfill their warranty was excruciating... But finally they sent a third new phone.

That one was the best of the three by far. It lasted a full five weeks before it bricked on its own. I use my phones mostly for business so they don't get filled up with games or junk apps.

It seems to be a quality issue, who knows if its in the assembly process or somewhere else, but as patient and determined as i was over a six month period, they simply couldn't supply me with a phone that wasnt defective.

I had the same problems charging the phone from my Mac.

I'm still investigating, but it seems to me that everything started when I disabled the MTP option.

Re-enabling it did the trick, and my OPO is now charging again as before.

For who, like me, is struggling to find the option, is under Settings -> Memory -> (3 dots upper right) -> USB Connection -> MTP

Please give it a try, I hope it solves something for others.

i found a possible solution for this..when plugged into the computer go the usb settings and deselect connect as media and it should charge again. yup not charging via computer very disterbing

Hello Guys,
Don't get hyper and contact OPO's customer support. They are short on staff so it will take forever to get a solution.

The solution for the not charging problem is this :

"In My Case, I did the following steps...

After getting a full black screen (even no "low battery warning" screen after 1 day) and not even boot into recovery / fastboot...

===========================================
1) Kept the phone for 12 hours without touching and charging...

2) Plug official charger and usb for a moment... and tried booting... Nothing happend

3) Charged with official charger and usb for 6 hours and then

4) Pull off the usb and put back again ... and i got the LOW battery screen again,
WOW, staying for 4 / 5 mins...

5) Now don't try to boot or anything.. keep it charging for 30 mins more and let it be charged
upto atleast 10% (you will see normal charging battery icon screen) even
it is black.

6) Now finally boot your device by pressing power button for few seconds

7) Phone should boot normally...
================================================"

Hello Guys,
I bought a new OPO and got it delivered today (6th July 2015), I am facing a similar issue where the device hasn't even started up once, Kept it on charge for three hours but still no response, all it does is keep vibrating if I press the power key for more than 15 sec, it still has a full black screen till now and counting, it is also not getting recognised on the laptop as well. I have filed a support ticket for the issue hopefully wil get a reply soon.

Yes I did try a different cable, it works perfectly on my other devices, the one plus cable also works well with all the device, the OPO phone is still not switching on after 5 hrs of charging.

I hope they replace it for you quickly it really is an excellent phone and don't want this to put you off :thumbsupdroid:

try to power it up few times keeping the power button down for 20sec. if it is not working, how about trying to hard reboot and a hard reset and do a factory reset?
