Help New android market

Make sure you run all the HTC software updates on the phone...and newest Google Play will install once you've done this

I keep attempting to update my HTC software but when I press "Check Now", a box comes up saying "Checking..." and then it just stays there. It's been like that for over 15 mins.
I've updated the Firmware, profile and PRL without a problem but it stays on "Checking..." when I try and update the HTC software.
Is there just nothing to update? The lack of PlayStore makes me think otherwise.

I apologize for the question if it's simple... I just don't know

if it just keeps saying "checking" it isn't up to date...what software are you currently running now? If you are running the newest software, but the market still won't update, try deleting the market data off your phone, and click uninstall updates from the market/play and see if it wil update...you should be running software number 2.17.651.5, that is the newest.

I'm running software number 2.08.651.2

So what do I do now that it won't update?
I've had it "checking" now for over an hour and still nothing.

Have you powered down the phone and pulled the battery? Are you using WiFi to check for the update?

If it still hasn't worked...you can go to HTC's website and look under our phone, and download the updates and perform them manually...or just keep waiting till the ICS update comes (eventually)
