A little bit about me... I'm a Graphic Artist from Lexington, NC. I am married with a 13 mo. old daughter and I work as a sign artist in a small shop in Winston-Salem.
You may say that I began my journey into smartphones in 2003 when I bought a used Palm IIIc from an online shop. Now I know that technically a Palm IIIc is a handheld PDA and not really a smartphone, but to make the connection I should say that the experience with using a device that kept up with my calendar, contacts, todo and tasks began an almost inseparable reliance on a "smart" device to keep my life straight. In 2005 I "upgraded" to an untouched used Palm Tungsten T3, where I discovered the world of apps in the palm of my hand. A few years later, I made my first real smartphone purchase.
I got the Palm Pre one month after launch and was very satisfied with it. The really good thing, though, was my new relationship with Sprint. I was actually saving money on my cell phone bill, which was too good to let go for another Palm (now HP) device. Sprint has shown no interest in carrying HP webOS devices in the near future, and my Pre was getting pretty worn out (cracks in the case, broken power button, wobbly slider, inoperable proximity sensor). So I got the Evo 3D and now I am fully into Android.
I have already installed a launcher replacement (Go Launcher) and a bunch of customizable widgets and I'm waiting with baited breath for the bootloader to be unlocked so I can really get my hands dirty. I love the customization that Android makes possible (reminds me a little of GNOME, which I dual-boot at home), as well as the power of the Evo 3D. It's like night and day compared to my Pre (I still love webOS and keep up with it).
I'm excited to be here and I hope to find and share some great info.!
