New Battery Issues

After a number of months of acceptable battery life, my Hero abruptly began experiencing the same perpetual drain on the battery that I was having shortly after I got it. Basically, I had a light to normal use sort of day yesterday, and it was dead as a doornail by about 5 o'clock.

I did notice that the GPS icon was on all day, even when I turned off GPS, used a task killer and restated the phone. Anyone else have similar issues?

Ive noticed that my GPS sometimes gets stuck on and it looks like its retrieving data. Usually a reboot fixes it though. What is your awake time?

Root your phone and you will see a difference. Also try going to sprint and see if you can get a replacement battery also.

Seems better today, so it's looking like it was just a temporary thing, I guess. I may root my phone at some point, but having waited for 2.1 all this time, I'm going to stick it out and wait a little longer before I do anything that's going to void my warranty...
