Root New Captivate user..Got Questions

I just got my Captivate from AT&T and it has Firmware 2.1 update 1. First question is, Will I be notified on the Phone when an update is available? Second, I have my phone Rooted do I need to un root when Firmware update comes out and I upgrade? Final question,though this not a Firmware question per say I can't get GPS to work at all is this issue be addressed?

You should be, yes. It'll also be spammed all over these forums.

Probably not... although you might lose root and need to re-root.

Final question,though this not a Firmware question per say I can't get GPS to work at all is this issue be addressed?

Who knows. Maybe, maybe not. Samsung has conveniently stopped responding to any and all inquiries regarding GPS on the Captivate.
