Root New cm7 extreme battery drain

I installed the stable cm7.1.0 and my battery is draining like crazy amounts. Was using the unstable version and it was great besides the lock scr3n acting up. Any suggestion to as why. The only thing I added was the tiamat SBC kernel.

Well, go into your settings and look and see what is taking up so much battery power.

Display?
Phone?
Gps?

Whoa, system should NOT be eating up anywhere near 50% of battery use. I remember seeing something about this before, I'm gonna do some further research.

I'm on Xplod E4g with the Gapps package from 10-8-2011. I did find that my phone would go into a wakelock situation if I used the Voice to text on it.

It may be the same thing for CM7 since the Xplod Rom is built off of a CM7 base.
Two days in a row I used the V-T and those days it wakelocked. Yesterday I didn't use it and no problems.
Just a thought.

Edit: Also reading through that thread mentions being backed up to Google could do it too. Interesting.

I haven't had this issue and i was running CM7 with the tiamat kernel. My issue is more signal than anything. Well and me being on it constantly *L* However I do appreciate the info. Good to know if android is using a lot of resources, some of the places I can go to resolve the issue.
