Help New Contacts Problems

in the last month or two when I save a new contact, it is deleted after a few hours/days. it seems to vary how long it takes. nothing has changed on my phone. it doesn't affect the old contacts i have either. i can even edit and add info to those and it keeps that information fine. its just when i create a new contact.

I've checked and rechecked my gmail sync as well. Any thoughts or ideas whats wrong?

Check to see if they are being moved in your GMail account to another category that is not synchronizing on your phone....

nope i deleted all the categories except the ones gmail wont let you (friends, family, etc) and the new contacts are simply added under "my contacts" on both phone and gmail.

and they continue to disappear from both droid and gmail after a few hours/days.

Change your account password (long shot) - maybe someone else has gotten access to your account.
