New Desire user - need some help!

Hi guys...just got my new HTC desire, and loving it.

Already got a question (no doubt there will be more!)...how do I lock the screen?

Also, is there a way of making profiles like on Nokia. I had one setting for ringer on, and loud. and another for when I was in work which just vibrated, no volume!

menu/settings/security/set unlock pattern/require pattern

then, when you hit the power button you will need to put in the pattern to unlock the phone.

If you are referring to pressing the power button; it looks the screen and requires another press of the power button and a slide down of the bar to activate the screen again. I hope this helps.

As above the power button locks it. A pattern lock adds security to unlocking.

For profiles like Nokia, try an app called ear

Also have a look at the Setting Profiles app - you can find it in the market. Very useful for getting the device to switch profiles depending upon user selected variables e.g. location, time, battery state, docked/undocked, etc.
