4th - What trouble? Call verzion Claim you have a problem - Real Hard. Whole call will take less then 10 mins and 24 hours later you have a new phone delivered to your door.

Now maybe You are one of those Newbie complainers that will let some junior customer service rep. talk you through a factory reset. So yes in those rare instances the whole process could take 15 mins instead of 10.

More to the point, it takes about the same amount of time to get a replacement phone from verizon as it does to make a post here bragging of your scheming!

Only the guilty feel like they are being accused of anything.
An innocent person would let all this go in one ear and out the other.

i only got mad bcuz i keep reading how people are accusing others about lying to get new devices. they arent even saying a minority but are saying we all are scheming to get new devices. yes it is a long process to get your phone back to the way you want it. its not like an iphone where your apps fly back to your screen. you have to customize all over and over again! (i wasnt talking about his 15 secs individually!)

go kick rocks or something dude instead of trying to talk crap on a forum.

Quit bickering this is a cell phone forum.

For the record:

1. NO I did not lie to Verizon to get a new phone, that is called fraud which is illegal.
2. I HATED calling Verizon every time to explain my situation only to get a phone that does not work.
3. the 15 seconds infers to the time I spent turning it on, and using the trackball to scroll through the set up menu when I found it didn't work.
4. I know EXACTLY what I am talking about when it comes to my Eris, im not one of those ******** as you said.
5. And no I am not sharing my "scheme" I am simply telling people my situation because many others are in it, see this is a FRIENDLY forum.

So grow up, quick trolling CELL PHONE forums, and get on with your day.

Obviously, some people are going to lie about problems with their phone so they can get something better. But, you're really just making yourself look like a jackass. There are several problems that dozens (probably hundreds) of users have experienced with the eris, many that deal with the trackball. That's poor manufacturing, not pathological lying.

If there were as many problems with the ERIS phone as are indicated here by the % of post . Then YES, I would expect to hear about this Major manufacturing problem in many other places, among which, a business or trade related newspaper would certainly be one.

It's a numbers game genius - It is theoretically impossible to have such a high % of people - JUST ON FANBOY FORUMS all suffering from the same problem. and NOT have that same % or close to it with the same problem out in the real world as well.

Its obvious you know nothing about Business or Consumer Electronics Manufacturing and even less about Math.

Do yourself a favor, First STFU then, go add up all the track ball problems posts just on this forum. Not even trying I found the Dozens you boasted of and you are right, there may be the 100s as well.
Now this may be the hard part for a rocket Scientist like you. But you will need to do some basic math now.
How many Real people are there in the ERIS forum, Real meaning only one S/N? A few hundred? a thousand? Whatever, Figure out the % who complained of the identical problem After you do that and see how High it is! research how many ERIS units Verizon sold in the last year, apply the same % to that # and you would have a MAJOR Manufacturing Nightmare in the making. Possibly at recall levels, but certainly at a level that there would be News about it somewhere besides a few fan Boy, Wannabee Hacker Forums.

I'm not saying the guy is lying but it is damn annoying to get on here and read how every other post is about getting a new freaking eris because your other one had some issue. Do you think we really care that you got a new phone, eris or other model? No.

This is all the same as when the incredible first came out and people kept posting how it was so much better than the eris. We didnt care because we all knew that and thats why those threads got banned. These same types of threads shouldnt be allowed because they contribute nothing anyway except how to escalate thru the tech support chain to get new upgraded phones. Once youve read one youve read them all...

After checking this guys other posts, seems just about every one of this guys posts are negative. =Troll

Dont keep giving him what he wants. Mods will step in soon enough.
 
This is ridiculous. There is no reason to call people liars or insult your fellow members, everyone on this forum is required to agree with the rules when they join the forum. Whether you choose to actually read those rules and the zero tolerance policy or not is up to you, you are still required to abide by those rules. If you can't do that then you won't be on this forum much longer. Play nice or don't play at all.

Also, if you have a problem with a post, report it. I am really surprised that most of this took place between 11 and 1 without a single report for any of these posts. The one and only report came at 9 this morning. Reporting the post allows any Mod on the forum to see and deal with it. Not reporting the post and trying to argue it out with someone can lead to you getting in trouble. Again, if you have a problem with a post then report it. If you have a problem with a poster then use the ignore feature found in the User CP. Both of these will keep you out of trouble and happier on the forum.

As far as the good bye and I'm on Eris # X threads go, I'm inclined to agree with what MJL said. We all know that there are bad phones out there and we all know that people can, will and are upgrading to different models. We also know that some people have and are making false claims trying to upgrade early. I'm not saying it is happening here or in any thread in particular, just that it is and we all know it. Being dishonest is on that individual and not yours or mine to judge. At any rate these things really shouldn't be the main focus of discussion on the Eris forum. This is a place to discuss the Eris and not how someone plans to leave it.

All that said, Thread Closed and infractions issued.
