New Fascinate video from droidlife on youtube. Check it out!!!

welp, sweet... wish he would have touched on the GPS though

I love love love the look of this phone. I think I am probably going to root it and get some custom ROMs in there, or I will try out Launcher Pro. I don't like the look of Touchwiz that much.

I don't think custom ROMs are worth it until we get ROMs based on Froyo, but that's just me.

Someone needs to make a video where they do more than just scroll back and forth through the screens. We already had one of those..

Can we please put a Verizon rep on the spot about their dumbass decision to cripple this phone with Bing?

I swear Verizon corporate is run by a bunch of morons.

Love it!
Things I'll do right after I buy it:

1) one click lag fix/ext2/root
2) launcher pro
3) get google map/search/navigation/voice
4) remove verizon bloatwares
5) phantom skinz chromatic black
6) enjoy

I will take a different approach... :)

I will use the phone for a couple weeks as is, do a gap analysis, then make appropriate changes from there.

NO HEADPHONES?! the other galaxy s' have nice headphones with them :( .. i have nice ones but i like the ones included as backups

lol..whoever believes that verizon isn't crippling this phone purposely to protect their investments with motorola..i got a bridge to sell you lol

Verizon is a for-profit business. They will go with anyone who can make more money for them. Although they have long time business tie with Motorola, they really do not mind to leave them within a heart beat if someone else can do better than Moto.

There is no reason whatsoever for Verizon to screw other vendors in favor of Moto. :) Based on my past experience with Verizon as a long time customer, they always like to, eh "add on their personal touch" (ha ha, for lack of a better term) on their phones below launch. ;)

I hope someone post how to root the phone when they get it. Or do I follow the how to guide for another galaxy s phone?

Exactly. Root the sh*t out of it and flip off Verizon! Those bastards! :)

We need root + Froyo - BLOAT >> Sexy experience.

Who is working on Froyo ROMs for the Fascinate/Galaxy S phones? I'm not sure any are out yet but I haven't been following.

yeah. a bunch of morons with 95 million customers, and billions of dollars a year in revenue.
did you ever think that some people may like that option? if you dont like bing search, there is always google.com.
ive had a fascinate for about 5 weeks, and i just bookmarked a page for google. wasnt too bad. plus, bing was a lot better than i thought it would be.

verizon has in no way crippled this phone. did you see the benchmark? no different than any galaxy s.

Ok, they are obviously doing something right on the business end, but my gripe is with HOW they roll out phones and handles LAUNCHES.

I mean that, with just about EVERY launch of their phones, they:

A) Don't have live models in the stores on "launch day" - I've gone to three VZW stores for the Droid 2 and X. They weren't available on launch day but they were willing to take orders. Weird, right? Keep in mind there is a restocking fee, so I'm not sure why I would order a phone I couldn't play with, dislike it, then have to pay a restocking fee. Lame.

B) The reps in store never know when another shipment of a new phone or a new phone's accessories will come on. This is frustrating as all hell. I hate Best Buy and would rather go to the VZW store.

That's what I meant. Running a telecom business is obviously complicated, but whoever is in charge of distribution and planning launches (or whatever department) doesn't seem to care about the customer experience, just whether or not people shell over the cash and sign a contract.

Off-topic:

Do you know why Bing was even loaded on there? Would that have been a requirement of Verizon or could Samsung say they won't load Google on it?

Just curious.
