New firefox version

It's all good, whatever suits you innit, I still don't see that ff or chrome were even needed, plenty of other browsers around already.

Like what? Lynx?

IE? Windows only.
Safari? Mac and iOS only.

Which very much only leaves Opera. Netscape is discontinued and basically became Mozilla Firefox.

Most other minority browsers one sees are either Webkit or Mozilla based, or are just a skin for IE.

Safari works on Windows just fine. I personally don't like it, but it works fine (because I have itunes?)
But seriously... Go back to 3.6 if FF4 bugs you too much. You can always update to the next release when its out :)

I was using Fx 4 when it was still in the Minefield Alpha stages. As my daily browser.

I now use Minefield 6.0a1 as my daily browser. When 4 was still being worked on (I think they were originally calling it 3.7a1 then) I was stoked at the new look and layout - and I have not been disappointed. The new layout, the better integration with Windows 7, and better privacy features, the integrated sync....

This is the best major version change in a very long time (really, since 1.x --> 2.0.0.0)

Gotta agree with that. I run their beta builds. so like right now I'm running FF5b1 since it just got released with that. I find their minefield/aurora builds slightly too buggy for my setup. But thats to be expected. Right?

Hey...what do you have against lynx? :p

Anyway, my main browser is Opera, then Chromium. So...perhaps I have no business being in an FF4 thread. But I had to defend Lynx. :)

Depends. My Minefield just updated a couple of days ago to 7.0a1 - all the addons I need to work with it, though, work just fine :D

I was using what has now become the Fx 5 beta in minefield form - it has some neat enhancements to the Fx 4 interface, but nothing really spectacular. In terms of memory usage, though, I think it might be just a bit superior to Fx 4.

The other thing I really like about the minefield builds - native x64 builds for Windows :D
