New Gmail 4.5

Dunno what to tell you, there might be another setting there to activate it, maybe your settings are not set for conversation list.

Glad you mentioned that, Don. Was about to come in here and rant about the new Gmail sucking, but now I feel a little better, knowing that I had to go into the settings to show the delete function.

I still wish the boxes next to the emails to select multiple emails to delete were available.

Touching the contact image gives the same effect as the check boxes.

I'd rather get rid of the stupid images and bring back the radial buttons, but thanks for pointing that out. I thought I had to long press on each email in order to do multi-select.
 
Is it just me, or does anybody find the colors that Google is going with for all their apps kind of cartoon-like and childish?

Like the Pastel coloring for Google Keep? That's the whole reason I decided not to download that thing. And the layout just doesn't make sense at all.

They took Google Keep and seemed to throw that same type of theme into the Gmail app.

I seriously hope Google doesn't see that as a good thing. If they're taking the Android over all, the same direction of iOS, I'll be very very disappointed.

You can turn the images off also, simply uncheck senders images.
 
That is in the settings under sender image. If you look at both mine and DonB's screen shots you will see the sender image setting.
