The new Google Maps update makes my phone go haywire when using either Maps or Navigation. Anyone else having problems with it? It causes my screen to flicker, the settings menu becomes one large artifact, and it causes my quicksettings pull-down to become translucent and unreadable.

Welcome to the Evo V 4g.
DOesnt matter if your stock or Rommed. Seems to be a Evo v 4g issue.. maybe even evo 3d. Even my GF evo design 4g had the same issue with updated map programs.
Common problem with this phone. Remember when Google chrome use to do this before it was fixed. If you have a car and use Trapster you will notice the same flickering after they updated the app.
It seems to happen with map apps when they update the entire app and i guess change the map provider
Only way i fixed any problems like this is to DOWNGRADE the app to the old version and never update it.

Have this problem too but rotating the screen fixes it most of the time.
