Okay, I finally made the plunge and joined in on your fun. Please extend a hearty welcome and don't share any condolences. :) I remapped the power button so I can turn the darn thing off. What else do I need to know?
My Sammy S8+ lost it's microphone between the holidays which forced my hand. I have waited so long to upgrade that I was going to wait for the S11 release to make up my mind. No talking is a bummer. I had it diagnosed by a Sammy repair dealer and they said a replacement mic was the ticket. $130 bucks later it still sounded like it was under water. I got my money back after making a scene and went down the road and purchased the Note 10+. Oh well... I wanted one anyway. :)

I'm pretty stoked too Ocn. I wanted one from the beginning but had no excuse to upgrade. I'm glad it worked out the way it did.
My Note came with Android 9. Once I activated it spent an hour updating. What it updated I don't have a clue. I personally initiated a security update and after three more consecutive security updates it then and only then wanted to push 10 my way.

Yes Sir, I opted for the 5g version. I know I'll be using the Note for a few years... or at least hope to. I'm guessing 5g will be mainstream in that time and wanted to have the radios.

Thanks Chief. This is my first Note so I'm way behind the pen curve. All I've done so far is jot down a note or two and tried the pen input on a couple of texts. I bought the Note for it's specs and sd slot but I want to explore the pen features. There are surely some neat stuff it will do that I can put to use. I will be giving your link a serious view.
 
Two of my favorite S Pen functions, as a remote, is to pause, play or skip a lousy song when I'm listening to Google Play Music. Tap= pause/play, double tap=skip, triple tap-repeat. The second is as a remote shutter control for the camera. Sometimes it's not easy having two hands available to hold the phone AND hit the shutter icon (ie, I need to photo a serial number on the back of some equipment). With the S Pen, I can just position the phone and, with the S Pen conveniently in my free hand, press the button and take the picture. Of course, that's helpful too when I have the phone on a tripod for a group shot.

Welcome to the party. I too was going to wait but the battery in my Note8 started swelling and cracked the side of my phone deciding me on this new path last fall. It's a sweet phone and a definite upgrade.

yep 5g cuz you never know when 5g is fully launched. i'm betting LA will have it up and running fairly soon. i want to join the block party when it does:cool::cool::cool:
