hi at one time i had the factory installed weather widget on my screen i have since removed it from my screen. but had a question i was poking around running services and i seen it in there. It says my weather clock for the process and then is says my weatherclockservice started by application but i dont have it even on any of my screens. Is that normal dose the phone just start it up without it on my screens. i removed it off my factory canvas launcher screen today. as i switched to go launcher and i have not re put it on there i tried it but it looked out of place so i trashed it lol. so how do i stop it service from running or can I. thanks for any help you can offer me.
 
Please forgive us all for the slow response to your question.Reason being just about everyone here is rooted & have done 1 of 2 things:
1) Unbloated & deleted most un-necessary NON-GOOGLE items or

2) Installed a custom ROM/OS

Not too many here can even remember if that can be turned off.I know I can't.However,my guess is no,the ANDROID system probably keeps it on all the time.
 
To reiterate the above post, most of us removed that.

Unfortunately like a few stock apps and Widgets it turns on automatically and even if you kill it it will come back again.

It doesn't take up any CPU time though if you aren't using the widget so unless it really bothers you just ignore it.

If it is annoying you can always root and delete it with bloatfreezer/titaniumbackup/appkik. Any of the three should suffice.
 
Thank you all for the responses i was thinking about rooting my phone but need to wait for the warranty to be up and then i do that. thanks again for all the help and timely responses.
 
The services that started without you starting them is called Bloatware, such as Boingo Wifi, Metro Wifi, Metro Backup, and all that other nonsense.
To remove all this, your phone needs to be rooted.
After your rooted you can download Icarus 1.1, which is a faster ROM.
