New Rezound owner here. I've had HTC devices going back to the 'ol Cingular 8125. All have been great 'cept my Dinc that decided to go into a boot loop at about 87 degrees. I really liked that phone too. I really like this phone, but what is up with the screen? I understand why the blacks are not as black as the Dinc's, that don't bother me. However:

A: Why not use red LED's for the cap buttons that are red anyways? The white light escapes anound the bottom edges of the phone, and those four LED's shine right up into your display. block the light, or use colored leds imho.

B: This is my second Rezound. I sent the first back because it had a piece of dust under the screen. Once you see it, your eyes zero in right on it. The second one has a tiny spec under the screen also, but not as noticable. I never noticed this in any of the other phones.

Either way, if that's all I got to gripe about I can't complain. I just hope I will be able to use Barnacle to run my ASUS prime when it come in :D
 
I am, in fact, very happy with it. The 4g is insane! I bought a dx2 off ebay to get me by after my dink dunked. The Tegra2 was nice, but sloooowww compared to the Rezound. Everything just zips along so fast.
Would I like an amoled screen? Yes, but maybe that's what helped keep cost down and the reason I picked it up for $130 last week.
Would I like a sealed screen with no dust under the glass? Yes, but maybe when/if I crack the screen I'll be happy that mine is cheaper to fix.

Ya gotta take the good with the bad. I really like the Sense upgrades as well. The dx2 was, well, boring...
 
While any phone will have its detractors, I think the Rezound is one of the best all around devices out there. But maybe I'm easy to please, as I was perfectly happy with my Thunderbolt
 
Sucks you've had bad luck with screens. They did use LED's under the capacitive buttons. Had they used red LED's they wouldn't have been as bright. If I look down at the screen at any normal angle I can't see the LED's under the soft keys. I'd complain if my phone was defective in any way. Luckily this phone is perfect.
