I am new to the droid phones and just bought a HTC Hero and am trying to figure everything out about it but what i am wanting to know right now is how to move the apps such as games and stuff from the phone to my sd card, any help appreciated!

I think you need Android 2.2 for that. I have an Evo that does it but my old Hero with 2.1 that I now use as a music player at work, doesn't do it. Maybe post in the Hero section for more answers.

There's a really cool feature that allows you to remove the apps to the SD. However, you must first remove your Hero back to the Sprint store and get a newer phone with android 2.2.

The salesperson wasn't acting in your best interest if they sold you a Hero this late in the game. Granted I've heard only great things about it... but it's at the end of its life. (I can't believe that thing is still selling for $149!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!)

Are we talking about the sprint hero here or the gsm hero?

Either way, rooting the phone is your only option to get apps2sd (be it froyo style or proper apps2sd).

yes.. the HERO is a great phone if you got it 1 yr ago. there are better one out.. in the same price range. If you are on sprint.. look at the LG Optimus S for non-4G phones (must activate before Jan 30.. or you will be hit with the $10monthly Fee)

to move apps to SDcard you have to have android 2.2 or higher.
or
ROOT the phone so you can.. and install a 2.2 ROM or use apps2sd app.
