thank you for sharing your settings. I will give it a shot. Thanks for being honest about your fair share of lag. Everybody else seems to not have any. And I have to say thats a lot of tweeking.

I just recently read this somewhere and don't see it mentioned over here too often, but I believe that if you switch to LP but leave your Sense widgets running, that could possibly cause your phone to lag.

Basically before you switch out to LP make sure you close down whatever widgets you had running first and see if that doesn't improve how your phone functions.

Majority of my settings are stock. My lag came from 3 settings that i tested with.

-The "Keep in Memory" feature which has a warning that it may cause instability.
-The "Memory Usage" setting. If you set it to High then it will lag a bit iv noticed.
-And the "High Quality scrolling" is also a resource hog.

As for using Beautiful Widgets ($1.95 in the market btw) is as easy as long press on the screen you want it at, click widgets then choose Beautiful Home Weather. Youll be shown a screen for some settings but you can click save & Apply right away and youll be like stock Sense. Or you can take a few moments to choose the weather service (Accuweather or Google - are the options), your location if you want to hard code it, or use GPS, update interval, and a few other various settings regarding skins if you want.

Also, Along with the Weather clock of BW it also has widgets for Bluetooth, brightness, GPS, Plane Mode, A smaller slimmer version of the clock/ weather, Vibrate & Wifi. So for 1.95 its worth it IMO

If you uncheck "High Quality scrolling" many things will look like crap if you scroll . like the power widget, very pixelated . Not worth it. I dont see any real performance hit on my EVO.

Wow this thread should be re-named Launcher Pro, I have been very pleased with Sense UI on my EVO. Sense KINDA lagged a little on my old Hero which persuaded me to go with Launcher Pro which was real smooth, I loved it. Even then I didn't stay with Launcher Pro for too long and went back with sense.

With Sense on my Evo its a night and day difference for me compared to my old hero, I mean its still Sense UI, but with the feel of Launcher Pro. I don't see LP+ replacing Sense for me, I know its all preference but I just wanted to put my .02 in stating that Sense UI works superb on my EVO and don't see anything in the market taking its place just yet.

And if you like the Sense clock with weather you can get "Beautiful Widgets". I bought it and its the exact same as Sense clock with weather. The plus to it is you can customize it with different fonts and animation styles that are available.

How are the animations with Beautiful Widgets? I've been wondering:

When you wake up the phone, do the sun rays extend past the widget and fill up the entire homescreen? What about clouds and rain. Does Beautiful Widgets animate across the entire screen?

Thanks, Sense was one of the key points of me getting the Evo in the first place. I just can't wait to get the new Sense on our Evo's, its going to be great
