Root New Jager ROM released (1.6.2) Vanilla

Facebook sync is a part of Sense on the incredible. The stock Facebook app that you can download from the market does not sync your contacts.

So pretty much any ROM you download that removes sense will break Facebook sync.
 
I have been using it now for about 2 hours. I am very impressed. Is it very barebones and hardly includes any HTC stuff (minus the HTC unlock screen). If you are looking for the closest rom to Vanilla 2.1, then this is for you. Phone is very fast and not bloated at all. This is my favorite ROM so far.

You are correct. It does not include Facebook HTC sync. However, I was able to download an app in the market called Facebook sync. It allows you to sync your Google contacts and match them up to your Facebook contacts. It worked well but only downloads the photo right now. I also liked having my contacts linked to Facebook and this program does a decent job at doing that.

This build includes the HTC dialer.

This is an excellent rom, extremely snappy and very vanilla, was hoping for a white notification bar but it's all good. :D Here are some default screenshots:

This is 100% incorrect. The stock facebook app DOES in fact sync your contacts. After you install it, the first thing it does after you sign in is ask if you want to sync facebook with the contacts already on your phone. Mine did, and it did. This is just the standard Facebook for android app.

Not in this ROM it doesn't. If you go to accounts and sync you CANNOT add Facebook nor can you choose to sync facebook contacts within the app itself. If you know something we don't, please explain the process....

thank you for that, i was about to install this rom thinking facebook sync would work.
 
I want something Sense-less but Facebook contact sync is one of the best features of the damn phone.

I definitely agree with you there. I'm so OCD about having a picture for every contact it's not even funny.

Does it have the Sense lock or calendar?

Actually, could you tell us what parts of Sense are still left? Obviously the dialer and notification bar as you've pointed out but what else?

What I've noticed:

Sense Lock Screen
HTC Message App
HTC browser
HTC People app
HTC Calendar
Call history, phone, etc..

Jager said he took out as much as he could while still leaving the phone stable and useable. I'd say about 80% of HTC/Sense stuff is gone. Overall the phone is much faster without all of it. Hope that answers your question.
 
How is the battery life on this rom? Do you notice a big difference with how long the battery lasts with much of sense removed?
