New JF Update!

Well my radio still is acting up with JF 1.51 and the jf radio update.

  1. Sometimes a call will ring twice seem to drop when I try to answer then start ringing again, then I answer and it is OK. The caller said they only called once.
  2. Most of the time my phone does not ring and calls go straight to VM.
  3. Calls Drop
Any Ideas?

So the only way to tell you've updated to 1.51 is to look for CRB43 in the build number. ok, cool, it worked. But now I get dropped calls at least twice a day. Whats weird is the phone shows strong signal to the cell tower and the call does not quit, it's as if the mouthpiece on the phone stops working and the people on the other end cant hear us, but we can hear them just fine.

Anyone else?

Radio is an updated firmware for phone's radio (that's how it communicates with cell towers!), which was re-done for Cupcake. I am not sure if there's a new radio update for 1.51, or it's the same as we installed when rooted and cupcaked in the first place... I did install radio and it worked fine.

Do not check and install update.zip - this is an update.zip left on your SD from your previous manual update, or elsewhere. You don't want that. You want JF updater to download it's own update (I did radio first and 1.51 second). Once downloaded it will show a system notification saying that it's ready to be installed - just tell it that you agree, and it will even reboot your phone into recovery automatically (do grant it root).

Hope this works for you, it did the trick for me.
LEM.

I did exactly as you did. But I get this error message during the recovery:

"E:Can't mount /dev/block/mmcblk0p1 (or /dev/block/mmcblk0)
(No such file or directory)
E:Can't mount SDCARD:update.zip
Installation aborted."
How can I insure the these JF updates get applied?

Just as a check; you don't have the USB cable plugged in do you? If you do, the phone won't find the SD card, as your computer will have mounted to it.

Hope this helps.

It was not plugged in via USB. I'm not plugged in to anything. Thoughts??

Just plugging the cable does not mount the sdcard ... You don't have to mount unless you choose to only work with the sdcard as a usb drive ...

The Phone as a whole can be address with sdk tools when the phone is not sd-mounted ...

In either case the phone will charge off the usb port ...
