New Kies Update Available For Windows

Hi there JKB77, JSPX! is actually talking about an update to the Windows version of Kies software program which handles importing, exporting, backup, restore, and firmware updates.

Not an update of the phone or device. You probably cannot update your version of the device because you have the most current. You have not said what device or version you have - so I'm guessing.....

exactly my point. .. i upgraded my kies to the latest and it read my device. . . using the previous version does not.

If the previous version of Kies wasn't working for you but the new one is then that's great news. :D
 
When I opened Kies on my PC it informed me that an upgrade is available so there was no need to go searching for it.

Perhaps you can configure it to do auto updates and some people don't have this feature set?

I haven't time to check it myself at the moment.
 
Update to the newer version, but having trouble. Cannot make it find my device when connected on USB. It just stays put, and says connect to a device via cable/usb and does nothing. Tried restarting the phone, the Laptop to get connect, but of no use.
Any assistance in this regard is appreciated.

happend to me a day ago when i updated kies. .

go to MyComputer > properties > device manager > you should see the yellow bubble with black exclamation point on samsung usb device (something like that) ...uninstall it.. then insert your cable with phone again. . :) that should do it. .

Running windows 7 and nothing in devise manager for samsug. What a crap piece of software this is

I also had this problem, uninstall. Then download again from samsung's web site.
 
Have you tried going into Kies without the USB cable plugged in, then go into Tools, Install Driver?
 
Thanks for the help. Uninstalled Kies, and re loaded. Still did not work. Then went to device manager, and unstalled the USB driver, and now it works.
 
Im having the same problem as shivram had and reinstalling the usb doesn't help. Anything else I can try? Every damn update comes with a bunch of problems with these phones...
