Hi, all. First, let me state that I've been a T-Mobile user for several months. I have been using an LG DoublePlay. Before that, I was a Virgin Mobile user with several phones and was with them for several years. I only switched to T-Mobile because I was tired of the terrible service (customer and network).
This is my initial reaction to the L9. Please bear in mind that I've had this phone for less than 24 hours, however I can state with some level of confidence that it will carry over into the future.
I am a happy camper! I have tested GPS, network connectivity and wifi and found all to be flawless. I mean, remember, I came from a DoublePlay. This thing has the second worst GPS (Motorola Triumph gets the award) on the market.
I'm running JB 4.1.2 if that matters.
4G in my area has been as receptive as it was on my DoublePlay - i.e., Typical in the network - fast. I live well outside of the "typical" market and actually rely on the wifi calling feature at home as I have zero bars at home.
That's the main reason I switched from Virgin. I got my DoublePlay phone as part of a deal through CraigsList! I swapped a laptop for another laptop and the DoublePlay. So, I switched to T-Mobile and was impressed with the wifi calling feature. After several months of dealing with that phone, I realized I needed GPS a little more than that phone was worth. I am a real estate appraiser and I actually rely on GPS to get me to the correct address. The DoublePlay has a terrible GPS system.
I just realized that I'm rambling - sorry.
In a nutshell, happy - really happy so far. I will gladly update in seven days to give a week to sink in.
So far, four out of five stars.
