NEW Latest 2.1 Leak and Get More HTC Widgets

Just confirming, this is only on 2.1 leak 2? I have leak 1 and am not going to update after getting pwned trying to root the 1st leak. Mine used to just say no, now it tries forever. I closed it after the screen timed out 3 timed.

Mine was working yesterday morning, and then at some point it stopped working. It wasn't working again until a few minutes ago when I went through these steps. Hope this helps!

PS - I still can't see the "coming soon" widgets, like "Call Mom."

I'm having trouble downloading the other two (Daily Challenge and Ringtone) right now, which I assume is related to other people not being able to access the list at all.

Profile is a settings widget (it looks like the Airplane and GPS widgets) and allows you to click it and select normal, vibrate, or silent. I guess that's easier than long-pressing the end button.

Notes allows you to scribble or type sticky notes.

EDIT: You can also get Battery and Tip Calculator, if you're dying to have 1.0 instead of .95 versions:

Nestor, thanks for posting the link! I'm sorry to bump an older thread, but I found it by searching for the new htc widgets...question (for you or anyone else) - I'm on a rooted mytouch running an eris 2.1 hero rom...I have the older htc widgets, and was able to download/install and use the battery/dice widgets etc. from the market...will these apks for note widget etc. work for me? I too get the 'unable to load new widgets tap to try again' screen when I try that way...

Side note - it was especially funny that I found your post, Nestor, because - guess what? Look at my username and think back to the La Habra Depot around 1997...

Oh, hey Sean! That's funny, I was just thinking about the Depot today because it's Steve R's 35th birthday, and I remember his 22nd birthday was during Carnival. Yikes.

Yeah, you should be able to use the newer widget APK's if you're successfully running other HTC widgets. You might even be able to enable the "get more widgets" menu if you clear the HTC Widgets cache in the Applications menu.
 
Lol yeah, small world huh? Crazy! Subsequent to my last post, I found out that I can't run these new widgets because the permissions don't match the MT3G sense roms. Oh well, hopefully some smarty will figure it out.
 
Honestly, the htc widgets are nothing special. You can find perfectly decent third-party widgets that are similar in the market.
 
My additional HTC widget download page didn't work for me the first time I installed 2.1 v2 on my Eris.However, I did a hard reset and then reflashed the phone again with 2.1 v2 and it worked.

Thanks so much!! Mine was stuck on "Installing" even after a power cycle. I guess finding the app and choosing Clear Data should have been obvious in retrospect but thanks for pointing it out :-)

(After the Clear Data it incorrectly showed them as "installed" but then I could click "Uninstall" then the next install finally worked.)
 
Hey guys, I've managed to download Daily Challenge and its on my home screen... but its just blank, how do I get it to work? Any help would be appreciated. Cheers.

its called create your own thread with your issue in the title so it can be addressed properly
