I removed it. Worked pretty well for a couple days, then did the whole force quit every time I tried to launch it, or it tried looking for updates. Tried rebooting, tried clearing out the cache, nada.
 
If you gave me 3 minutes I could pirate almost any app I bought. I did a write up here on how to backup your apps using the Android Debug Bridge (aka adb) very easily, and without having to do a whole lot on your end - wrote up a little batch file as well.

if they were really concerned about piracy, they'd tie the app to the phone's MEID and be done with it.

Heh, who needs to get all messy with ADB? You could just use Root Explorer or Terminal Emulator and do the job on your phone! :p
