Help New Member, a couple questions...

I am sooo glad I found these boards :) I am reading old posts, and have not come across these answers, I am sure they are, just chasing after a 2 and 3 year old... Took me a bit to write this out :o .

First off, can I transfer photos from my phone to a computer w/o actually sending them to myself? On my blackberry it had file folders, like "video" "photo" ect...
I am not seeing any folders when I plug in via USB. No photos I've taken, nada.

Second, Can I back up my phone book to my computer? Or make a second phone book using the newer numbers/emails I use?
Blackberry (was not a good phone over all for us) worked with Microsoft Office, and would synch with Outlook and such. I am embarrassed to say, I have had my google account since 03 or 04 and over the years, collected a lot of emails.

Third: Best place for apps, and what apps/games (preferably free, but I can spend it, if the app/game is worth it)

Fourth: Can I make a folder to put my kid's games (mostly puzzles, they can do the first level and then it gets too hard. They are soon to be 3 and soon to be 4). Seperate
Normally they wouldn't play unless we were in say a Cricket store (yesterday) for over 3 hours because their systems went down.

Fifth: My husband's phone, when it rings, talking on it, a game is being played, text message comes in, his is nice and LOUD. Mine, I can hear, if it is next to me. Not overly loud by any means.
I checked and made sure everything matched my husband's and they do. (unless there is a setting I haven't found)

I know I will have more questions... but maybe this will be a good start

OH and Crickets policy if you break or lose your phone is a $80 to get a new phone. Only good thing is if yours is no longer being made, they give you the lowest one in the same catagory as yours (hope that made sense).

When you first hook up your phone, Does a box with 3 options come up? It should have Install Mobile Drivers, File Transfer and Manual. If you can, Download the mobile drivers. Also, Go to your notifications bar, Where you see USB connected, Click on it. Then you should click the "Mount" option. You should be able to access the phone through the computer then. Though I believe you can only access the external SD card. Not quite sure.

I like using AppBrain. This app gives a lot of great suggestions. It shows what is considered "Hot" apps. After you've downloaded 10 apps from this program, It can also select you more based on your preference. As for games. I only know of the ones my significant other plays. Tank Hero, Flying games, etc. Sorry I can't be more help there. X.x

I believe if you click on any one of your home screens, A few options should come up. One of them will be "Folder". Click this and then proceed to click "New Folder". You can then go to the App drawer or another home screen and hold down the games you want to put in that folder. Just hold it down and then scroll and drop it over the folder. I am running a custom rom though, I hope the settings are the same for a stock Ascend.

This Ascend is a bit more quiet than my Optimus. Only when I play music is it slightly louder. I've got MyMusicOn. This app has it's own "Sub", Which allows it to slightly raise the volume of your music playing. I haven't explored how to make any system sounds louder just yet. Sorry I can't be more help there.

Oh wow. That's the same price I spent the first time on my Ascend. Guess I'm just a lucky bargain stealer. XD Any other questions don't be afraid to ask. Jazz and the rest of us would love to help. ^^.
