Got fed up with the wait, and realized that I would miss out on more if I kept sitting on my hands.

Rooted tonight, and will install the Gingerbread OTA ROM tomorrow.

Somehow I feel better already.

I've not been geeky since the mid to late nineties. So, it was sort of weird to see this tiny little phone do computer thingies and realize that it has more computing speed (well, relatively) to my gaming rig in 2000. Watching the list of files brought back memories of running Cartman edition Linux on my AMD K6-2 450. It was the damn shizzle in the day!

Anyhoo. Tomorrow, ROM flashing!

Stay up and flash! Try my flash guide for cyanogenmod in the "how to" sticky if you wanna try an AOSP ROM. Have fun flashing the leak though.

I am going to wait until the OTA is available in it's full glory (ROM, RADIO, HBOOT).

depends on your reference point for the dark side i guess... if you go with the typical star wars reference, the empire (dark side) is more like verizon, and the force (light side) were the rebels fighting against the empire, the rooters.

Awesome! I seem to have done the opposite of you. I rooted months ago to rid myself of the bloat, and the OTA GB was my first flashed ROM.

Considering waiting for reboot to finish was the hardest part of flashing the ROM, I think I may have a new addiction.

Wish I could find some detailed instructions on flashing a new radio.

This is pretty funny as my buddy has taken the "Obi-Wan" role to my "Anakin" as I got into the rooting deal.
