I bought a 128gb Micro SD card from the Microsoft store in which upon plugging it into my Samsung galaxy s5 active, it asks to be formatted because it is a blank sd card or file system unsupported. Upon attempting to format the Micro SD comes up with the same results going in circles. Going to Settings -> Storage -> I've attempted to mount the Micro SD to my android device and that does the same thing, however occasionally saying Micro SD is safe to remove. Twice so far in the passed four days I've been able to see the 119gb under settings -> storage (Only mount was displayed previously) when plugging the phone into my computer to move music onto the card it's failed both times. I have access to both Mac and PC so if it involves using the adapter that came with the Micro SD I can do that. I've tried formatting on both PC and Mac, the PC says format was not complete on PC found out the Micro SD is read only. Mac, when erasing and formatting as exfat, or fat the progress bar always gets stuck at partitioning. Thanks for any help!

This sounds like a faulty card, as microSD cards are preformatted before shipping and the Active definitely supports 128GB cards. I wouldn't waste any more time on it; return it to the retailer for exchange or refund.

If it's a FAT related problem have a look at this old thread
