Root New MicroSD card after root

Do I need to actually copy over anything other then android.tether that I know I saw somewhere else?

I don't think so. I switched SD cards as well and haven't had a problem. But let's see if somebody a bit more knowledgeable will answer

Not at all, unless of course you installed or saved other things to the card since root, like perhaps a nandroid backup file....
