Root NEW MIUI rom and desire 2 rom!!!!

All snap Kernel are supposed to work with this ROM,I'm pretty sure there must be one that performs better than the others,7.4 was one of the best IMO.
 
I had to ditch the MIUI rom. It was beautiful, non-taxing on RAM, solid, had great sounds, great FPS but there was so much broken on it. I like that my SMS pulls all my contacts' facebook pictures, this was gone. MMS didn't work for me, camera was bad and couldn't use front facing lens, and often the keyboard would start auto closing sporadically.

Lastly, the launcher would get stuck in a force close loop.

I went back to Fresh and got the latest rom then added Kings Kernel #9 and it's much more stable.

I'd like to note that all of this has been resolved in the more recent updates and much more has been added. Best rom IMO. I am back to MIUI :D

Hey guys!

Well, I finally took the plunge and tried installing my first ROM last night, after seeing some of the features of MIUI I really wanted to check it out for myself. The funny thing is I had 'just' gotten my phone to where I liked it a lot with LP and a few other widgets I had located in the past week. LOL!

Anyway I have a few AMATEURISH questions that I'd be real appreciative if someone took the time to answer?!?!?

- Is there any way to retrieve bookmarks and games? Maybe they're on the SD card? I did notice some of my back upped apps were on their so I re-installed them.

- Is there a secret to get the mail client to recognize my yahoo accounts?

- I saw several glitches listed in the thread have they been resolved, I know MMS works, were there any others?

- Do the majority of you use the MIUI launcher or have you tried using LP and does it work smoothly?

- I noticed a huge improvement to battery life when I installed SuperPower, is the app needed with MIUI, I noticed that it has battery saving features built in??

- Real dumb question here but does this UI not utilize a window where the apps are stored or do they just pile up on the home screens?

- I also noticed that if I try to remove an icon that it wants to uninstall???


Anyhow, I REALLY do like the way this ROM operates, it looks great too!

Apparently, there's an ongoing 'force close' issue with ROM Manager and MIUI should someone else have issues. I really like this ROM but not too crazy about losing 4G so I'll probably be switching back soon.
 
I gave this thing a try. It is pretty cool but still cant really dig it. It does have some issues and there are some cool things about it but you really have to like the way it works to like it...and I don't. Anyway, I had to do a battery pull because of a bootloop during the unlock screen and just went ahead and restored back to Myn's.

I felt the need to clarify something, apparently, I had downloaded an older version of MIUI, if not mistaken the latest MIUI version was just released last week and it 'may' still be in beta/test form.

Well, I downloaded/flashed it and no more ROM manager issues, not only does RM work fine now but the overall improvements/additions made to this latest version are unbelievable!!! This is one kickass ROM and I hope they get the 4G issues resolved along with a few other glitches that were frustrating cuz I use those particular functions.....ie. long text messages didn't go through, wouldn't receive video attachments via MMS, a call went into voicemail and I couldn't retrieve it.

Folks, if you havent tried this latest MIUI rom, you're missing out on some very cool features built right in, for an ex.... battery saver, record a call via "call tools" button available right on the call screen, along with several other cool additions. Def a must see ROM to appreciate.........I hope the developers work out the bugs soon!
 
I did install the latest version and there are still issues. I don't remember all of them but going into a loop while trying to unlock the phone did it for me. I felt like I was back on my Samsung Moment having to reboot the phone 3 times a day just to get it to work. The EVO will go forever without having to reboot....obviously I can't because I keep flashing stuff. Like you and I both said, there are certainly some neat features....features that should be incorporated into other ROMs. But the fundamental functions have to work and be stable or all of the rest is for naught!! I spent a day with it. You also have to have a different mindset...more of an iPhone mindset to navigate through everything....like not having an App tray. That is probably the biggest deal for me...and not being able to organize your apps the way you want to. Maybe you can, but I didn't spend enough time to figure it out. You pretty much get stuck with the apps in the places they end up....pages upon pages of them. Try installing Spare Parts and speed up the animations.....the thing is wicked fast!!! Anyway, all of the force closes and other little things just got to me after awhile...not to mention the underlying iPhone philosophy....which I don't really like and it is why I like Android....Flexibility.

Great work by the developers though!!!!
 
Go for it and have fun!!!!! Myn's is straight up nice. I think people get bored with it because there is nothing wrong with it....hahaha!!!! Definitely my daily driver!!!

HAHAHAHA exactly this Myns is so sweet, I cant find a darn thing to nag about....I hate that BUT I would like to find a PURE Android Rom, NO SENSE, TouchWiz, etc. Anyone know a good stable one thats worth it? As far as MIUI you scared me off with the boot loops lol
 
It was just one loop. I think it is worth the trouble just to check it out. They really did do a nice job. Just a couple of little glitches. It is a smallish file so it takes very little time to flash. Anyway, just a lot of fun. And if you have iPhone fanboy friends it really does jack with them!!!!....:D
