whoa there cowboy....Lol.....looks like you are completely new to the world of Droid X. I would suggest reading all 3 stickies at the top of this forum before you begin doing anything to your phone.
Knowledge is power my friend. Once you have read through this material come back and ask questions on what you do not understand and we will be more than happy to assist you further.
The DX has a bit of a learning curve so I would suggest you play around with it for a few weeks first. While you're doing that keep reading our stickies to become familiar with the words and lingo you're gonna hear pertaining to your phone.
Roms are the operating system where as themes just change colors and icons in said Rom. Installing a Rom is done by following the instructions found on the Rom download page.
Most Rom are installed after you root of course and using an app called Droid2 Bootstrap. Flashing new Roms can be tricky. this is why you have to follow the instructions on that Roms page because the process is different from Rom to Rom.
Keep in mind with 2nd init Roms you will use Droid2 Bootstrap to install them but NEVER use D2 Bootstrap after they are installed. You will break the init and have to SBF your phone. Saying you run Rom Manager and it just reboots you phone doesn't help. What are you running now? What are you trying to Flash?
