new note 2 messaging issue

Hey all

I just got my note 2 a couple of weeks ago and have noticed that I some of my received texts show up above my texts when they should be below my messages....


It makes it difficult to follow a conversation...

I did not have this problem on my old galaxy nexus a couple of years back.


Any idea why this happens?

It can happen if either you or the sender of the messages in question have the time set incorrectly/differently on their phone/device. You phone will normally list them in time order.

Any way to fix it?

Also, I have noticed my signal bars fluctuate drastically from one to three bars of the 4 shown in the status bar at the top of my screen...

Not sure why it's doing this in my house outside I would assume it's fine.

Re the time, make sure that your phone is set to use automatic date and time:

menu button
settings
date and time
tick Automatic date and time.

If you often get messages out of order from the same person, ask them to check the same settings.

I have never had more than 2 bars in my house - I have to go half a mile to get 4 bars or any chance of 3G. It just depends on the signal strength where you are and the materials your house is made of.

Tick it on or off? Mine was off already so I turned it on.

I should also say that the problem seems to happen mostly when messages are sent and received within the same minute.

That does sound like a timing problem. Automatic time and date should be ticked on so that it automagically keeps itself set to internet/network time.
