Help new note arrived today....

so as a few of you know, im nervous about updateing my new NOTE as the last upgrade to ICS killed the previous one....are there ANY precautions i can take to protect my phone while i update it to the current update?

I would highly suggest after updating you complete a factory reset. It'll start you off fresh and hopefully prevent against any bugs or glitches.

this may be a silly question... but if i do a factory reset after i update, wont that wipe the update and put it back to 2.3???

No - the firmware is upgraded for good - can't be reset to original firmware without a custom rom.

I've updated many a phone and have never, never done a factory reset. Never had an issues either.
