New official charger (UK)

OK, so i left my charger on a train the other day.

I tried Comet/Curry/Carphone W/Maplins, no-one had one. Where is the best place to get one?

I've seen for about

I thought that, but the dude in maplins said the HTC was unique to HTC. I've tried my GF blackberry, that didn't fit.

I just wanna get an official one really.

Any Micro USB one will fit matey, as said above.

If u get a choice, then try and get one that has an output of 1000mah. The same as the HTC's one. Any lower and it will be slower to charge

I've tried a couple of the cheaper chargers - they both did weird things to my phone (stopping charging, then starting, and then mis-reporting the battey).

I went back tot he official one.

+1
def be careful with cheap eBay chargers...... bought one and it made the touch screen go weird.

its just a standard mini usb charger now mate. same as blackberry and most new phones

That's not correct. The official HTC one does something clever with its wires so you get more of a charge. Standard ones don't really provide enough charge to make them useful. The HTC one is not unique in this but it is not a standard mini usb charger.

Whn I got one I couldn't find any highstreet shop that sold them in my local area (in the UK). I ended up getting from mobilefun - arrived the very next day though. If you do order online though, I would put it in this morning.

Ended up ordering the one from Chargers4U.

I've also approached a mate about his, as he had his Desire nicked and i'm chasing the lost property on the train. Could end up with 3. :)

Hope it arrives tomorrow.

Warning
some cheap ones will only show up to the phone as USB not AC so will only charge at 500ma not 1000ma so it will take 6 hours to get a full charge

I've tried a variety of different ebay/amazon marketplace chargers and found there's quite a variety out there.

To get something to match the HTC charger it needs to be 1000mA and have the wires configured in a particular way. That way it will charge at the full rate.

So far i've only been able to get a car charger to do the same.

A 1000mA usb plug adaptor with a standard microUSB cable will do about 13% in an hour, which is just about ok, but way off the HTC one.

i got an htc desire charger & a htc tattoo charger, the chargers connect together slightlt different but the cables can be plugged in to either charger.
The phones on the other hand each mini usb is different, meaning not all mini usb's are the same
