exactly. what is point of folders that aren't folders :-D
should have option for standard view too imo
If you go to the GMail website you can define a rule in which you apply a label to an email and move it to a folder.
Example: I create a folder in my GMail account and call it "Amazon". I then create a filter (the proper name for rules) which says when an email arrives from Amazon it should be labelled and moved to the Amazon folder. Now, when an email arrives from Amazon it doesn't appear in my inbox at all, as it has been rerouted to the folder. To see it from my Desire I open GMail, press the menu key, tap the folders link (bottom left) and the Amazon folder appears to have a single unread message in it, which I can read by opening the folder.
An absolute doddle, takes all of ten seconds to set up, and you won't see the messages in your inbox, as per your wish.
