This will serve as a continuation from the optimus m donor phone thread. Be merry , for there is an active port of ICS to the Optimus M happening now. (with many help from others.)

I just made an untested port of CM9 here, it might work.

Hey there, nice attempt, but unfortunately that port will not work, not without SERIOUS tweaking. Pretty much i would say it would be like porting windows 95 driver and system api's to windows 8... though that MAYBE an extreme example.

ics can install in 256, str8 stock AOSP, i have compiled from source and flashed, the rom itself is working, the kernel is what needs work, so basically, need kernel, and recovery capable of flashing it, which cannibal open touch can provide the proper recovery options, just a matter of updating the kernel to ics. LG has released ics kernel source for many phones, it is freely available at lgopensource, just a matter of configuring a build for it, and cherry picking modules and drivers from available source to try to get everything up to date, i was working on this b4 my ubuntu drive ate it and havent had the time since. it would be very tedious and may have to edit some code, but i do believe most of the drivers have been updated to ics, as synaptics is very common for touchscreen, basically a matter of pulling the config from your kernel, and making a new config to comply with ics, and hoping it builds right, unless you want to rewrite a new kernel

just my 2 cents, this is where i left off, most drivers ahve been updated, was going to TRY to cherry pick source to create a kernel, the easiest way i can see without ahving to rewrite and bunch of code to conform witht he new calls.. not saying it would work, but it is a viable option.

This sounds very good....hey KJohns where are you? :) or of course tripdoc79 if you want to finish this, this could be the final puzzle piece/s.
