I am still not too familiar with my phones features but I am currently having a problem to which I really need an answer my phone keeps wanting to go to silent mode a black bar with the volume line shows across my screen I have reset my phone and and looked in the sound options and still cannot find how to disable it .

I've never run across that. Are you sure you aren't hitting the volume down button by accident? If not, I'd take it back. Probably a defect of some sort. I don't know of any setting that would do that on it's own.

... or maybe the Volume Down button is stuck and it is constantly turning the volume down.

One of the major confusions I found with Android phones was all the volume controls. I found the app ... Volume Control + Pro ... and use it on all my phones. (They also have a free version.)
