New Phone& Operating system...How do I hide apps

I know this is a dumb question but I need some help...I upgraded to a Droid Razor HD running 4.0.4. It comes with a gazillion unused and unwanted apps. I was told that it is now possible to hide the unused apps which both makes them disappear and keeps the phone from trying to update the unwanted dross..

How does one do this???

It sounds like you are talking about being rooted. When your phone is rooted, you can use apps like Titanium Backup to "freeze other applications". Freezing them basically makes them act like they are deleted, but rather than deleting them you can easily unfreeze them again if you choose to.

Maybe I'm wrong and your specific device allows you to somehow hide the system applications but it sounds like freezing apps to me :)

Here is the instructions for rooting your device if you are interested in looking into it.

Also HERE is a post with links to the drivers needed as well.

I was led to believe that the latest android software let one hide unwanted apps even if the phone was unrooted. If I have it wrong, I will be disappointed.
