3 hours of talk time is garbage. The optimus m can handle up to 7 hours of talk time. you can overclock the optimus to 700+mhz so buying this phone is pretty useless. If you want to watch flash videos there is an app called skyfire. Besides, the optimus m is going to get the 2.3 update sooner or later and if the update doesn't come, we will always have cm7. I doubt the samsung admire will be as customizable as the optimus m is now.

I got to agree with Ray, for someone that does not have an optimus this looks like a ok phone.

But why would you get rid of a perfectly good phone that is already paid for and get this, it is not that much better then the optimus.

As a matter of fact, i do not believe this phone is better than the optimus whatsoever.

the only thing the admire beats the optimus is on sound quality (whithout equalizer) and screen size. Its not more smoother than the optimus, it has no more options or features, camera is the same... no touchwiz interface but plain 2.3 gingerbread. It does have a bit of more memory and a bit of chances for more customizations in the future once rootable, and less bloatware (samsung didnt include anything on this one, as opposed to LG that added those funny lg stuff like FB for LG and their home).

Other than that, the optimus still runs (personally to me) better than the admire.
And.... guess what.

It does not support flash.

The LTE LG Esteem is the one to wait for to replace our Optimus! It's the Metro version of Verizon's LG Revolution.

Coming out late September.

The LG Esteem (code name "Bryce") is based on the LG Revolution LTE Android which is sold by Verizon. Same specs, except for less internal memory. Look at all these goodies!

4.3" screen,
1GHz Snapdragon CPU
512MB RAM
1.3mp Front-facing video camera
5mp Rear camera with flash
720p video recording with rear camera
HDMI output
MicroSD slot
Android 2.3.4
VoLTE ready
4GB internal memory
WiFi hotspot

And much more

I bought the Admire 2 days ago and its great. I went to buy an Optimus because 2 of the people in my house have one and I liked them for the price and I wont spend $400 on a phone and by surprise the metro store just got 8 Admires in and the manager didnt know much about them so he let me mess with both phones so I could make a choice. I like the big screen and you notice the difference in speed and smoothness immediately when you use it. Not trying to pee on your wheaties but there are two Optimus phones in my house and I am very familiar with them and I have used the Optimus and Admire side by side and the speed of the Admire compared to the Optimus is night and day and when you run the same app(EX: Anipet Aquarium) on both there is no doubt the Admire runs it more fluently and it looks much better on the Admire screen and that's without the Admire being overclocked or anything. Best $129 I think I ever spent.

I dont doubt factory stock to factory stock the admire is slightly better.
When you root the admire and get it running as good as it can it might be better then the rooted streamlined optimus as well.
but remember in your comparison your running a android 2.3 device against android 2.2 which if the breakthroughs in the O/S are to be believed make a hell of a difference. especially in the department your talking about, speed running an app.

Yeah, I'm not an expert with these phones and I'm new to the boards so take my opinion for what it is, I just wish I could find a way to root the damn thing so I can overclock it.

Dont worry I would bet some industrious dev is working on that now. but it may take some time.:D
