New phone shopping

I am coming from an Iphone 3gs. I had always wanted the 4, but wanted to look into droid as well. I like the fact that the apps arent as regulated.

What are the major differences between Iphone 4 and the infuse that would make me choose the infuse?

I hear samsung sucks with updates.

I switched from an iPhone 3G to the Infuse 28 days ago. I'm as happy as I can be with the phone. It's a different system, but the learning curve is small. Like you, I was tired of Apple's tight control on apps and UI. Not with the Infuse! My one suggestion to switchers is to make a list of apps on your iPhone and see if they are available in the Android Market. Can you live without the ones that are not yet available in the Android Market? That's the question to ask yourself.

I generally tend to be add with my apps so thats not as big a deal. Most the functionality apps i know i will be able to find similar apps on the droid network.

I just worry about reliability?

Also, did you have to switch your plan when you switched? I hear ATT isnt doing unlimited data anymore?

That's what grandfathered is: you keep what you have. No need to know anyone. You can add a few things to the plan, but, for example, if you want tethering (paying for it), you'll need to switch plans. I just kept my original plan unchanged.

Going to get my phone today hopefully! I was on the iphone unlimited data and messaging plan so i'm not sure how that will translate to a droid phone.

You can just tell the rep you want to continue with the same exact plan -- and make sure she/he repeats that you are in the unlimited data plan.

^^^^^^This^^^^^^^

I had an iPhone before I switched to an android phone. I had to make a specific point that I wanted to keep my iPhone data plan. I've upgraded to two different phones since then and both times I kept my grandfathered data plan.

btw, welcome to Android. You made a great choice with the Infuse. Samsung got it right with this phone.
