New PRL!

Interesting. This is the PRL I had prior to updating to the 2.1v3 leak. Just did the update and now have the 51920... from 51866... It doesn't do anything in regards to the signal bars inaccuracy... Oh well.
 
i updated the prl. i had the 50% bug intermittently before...not here now...

i really doubt changing the prl would effect that bug but who knows...
 
I to went from 51866 to 51920. I went from 2 bars @ -88dbm to 1 bar at the same dbm.

WOOT! i think?!? (if working off the suggested lower is better mantra)

Yea, I'm pretty sure it's a random flaw in the boot process - Maybe something doesn't load correctly on some startups? I mostly get the 50% after a reboot... but sometimes I don't... And now with this different PRL, I still have it.
 
Got the 51920 PRL off the 51866... can't tell for sure yet about signal strength or the meter, but definitely still had the 50% bug on reboot. As always, airplane mode sorted it right out.
 
I am less than 2 miles from a cell tower. I can actually see it across the field from here and I get 1 whole bar and -88 dbm.

(yes the tower belongs to verizon. I checked it against the online map of vzw cell towers in the area)
 
ok couple of things....my prl before doing this was 30056 in Tallahassee, FL and is still 30056 after doing this. Also I haven't noticed the 50% without signal until just now. Yesterday I download the system panel app and used it for several hours and noticed it was draining my battery so unistalled it. Please tell me what to do about the 50% without signal issue!!! Thanks!
 
rooted. before PRL was 51866. after 51920. Upstate NY

katydid99 - in regards to the 50% time w/o signal bug. simply put your phone into airplane mode for a couple seconds, sleep yout phone for a couple seconds, then take out airplane mode. clear it right up. you have to do this every time you reboot the phone as the issue comes back.
 
Maybe a new tower was added in my area, but my signal has increased in strength. I went from one to two bars to two to three. And the actual signal is about 10 lower than what it was earlier. Not bad, not bad. Hopefully this isn't a fluke and is going to stay that way.
 
didn't do much for me. it's still 1-2 bars all the time, but when i make phone calls it goes up to 3-4 so it doesn't really matter.

and I still have the 50% bug..
 
I did the *228 option 2 successfully, rebooted, and then went to settings > about phone > software information and see PRL Version 51920. I'm in Erie, PA.
 
I noticed that I am recieving txt messages in batches when txting multiple people... usually 30-40 minutes after i txt them. They were wondering why I wasn't replying right away, and I think doing this might have done something :eek:

Maybe they claim to be Monterey but in a different area... like Carmel Valley or something like that...

Edit: Actually, if you look at message #67, someone in NY has the exact same results as us...
Who knows what those numbers actually mean:confused:
 
Well i seem to be in the same boat as half the post I am reading Started off with 51866. Now on 51920 hopefully this fix the silent bug. Other wise i am pulling out the Raid. Location Philly, Pa
