I updated my PRL this morning after a post in the all things root section and it seems to have solved some of my signal fluctuation issues. My signal has not dropped to -120 dBm like it used to. It is staying between -92 and -80 dBm and I have not gotten the radio interface shortage error since updating. The old PRL was 61008 and the new one is 61009. Just figured i should post it here so that everyone knows there is an update not just those of us that are using ZR3DX rom.

VM reprovisioned me again this morning. I've updated the PRL to 61009. Still missed a call. Confirmed no tower outage. I am still on stock rom.

I am beginning to see why Sprint never updated Evo 3D to ICS now. We are the guinea pigs to test out all the bugs.
 
Updated yesterday on stock rom. Fluctuation is more tapered now. I usually only get -120 dBm error once per day so will have to see if it comes back with the new PRL.
 
Still seeing fluctuations after the update, I'll give the phone time to settle and see what happens. But if nothing else this is the first update that I've seen from Virgin since my Intercept days. Certainly didn't happen with the Triumph.
 
Yeah it still happens. I still get the text message not sent thing sometimes. (Like maybe once a day but it still happens) Oh well...
 
i also updated my PRL yesterday. not really having any issues with signal, just wanted to be up to date.

i have noticed that upon waking up my phone, i show 1X for a wee bit then i go to a 3g signal. guessing thats part of the "deep-sleep" the phone goes into??
 
Got -120dBm 3 times today with new PRL. 1 recovered on it's own and other two I had to toggle wifi off to recover. I had none yesterday.
 
The best way to do a PRL update is by dialing ##CLEAR# from your phone keypad. this deactivates your service, then reactivates it, and then updates your PRL. It takes a few minutes. Ever since I did it, I have had much better signal, and many less service errors.

^can anyone else confirm this?^

looks like i spoke too soon yesterday. starting to get those "radio interference shortage errors" today and its PISSING me off. >_<
 
I've been getting the resource shortage error a LOT more since the latest PRL update. Before it was once every few days if that, but right now it's pretty terrible.
 
I did the update a couple days ago, but noticed little to no change in signal flux.
Also, I just started to get those "radio interference" error messages while texting today. I've also had numerous data connection problems, either taking longer than usual to connect to sites, or just not at all by timing out.
I think I was better off without the update.
