I haven't seen this on here yet. my friend told me about this new push to talk app called tikl. give it a try works best over WiFi and 3g. it works pretty well and it's free.

Yeah I saw it today in the Android Market, but haven't been able to use it yet, as both people have to have the app installed and I can't convince my friends to try it yet. :(
 
There was a thread here about it the other day. My husband and I both downloaded it. Aside from playing around (with the app ;)), we haven't really used it yet.
 
So does it work just like a Nextel in that you can just start talking and the other person will hear you?
Or do they just get an alert that someone is calling?

works great for me... a buddy of mine installed it as well and we hardly ever text or call now... usually just PTT..
 
The concept is good but they need to work out the bugs. We tried using app when doing a new phone system install a couple of weeks ago and its buggy as hell. Plus there is no way to actually exit the app so people can start talking to you at 2am. Uninstalled until it gets better.
