Root New ROM Without Recovery

Here's the rundown: My two-year-old got his little destructive paws on my Admire, and took it apart while I was replacing the internal camera.... Thankfully, he didn't kill it, but I no longer have volume control, as he ripped the volume control right off the board, and I do not have a fine-tip soldering iron, nor money to buy either the iron or a new phone.
I have some Alien-themed ROM I got off here that has Contapps as it's contact manager... and the damn thing never registers read messages, it never forgets missed calls, even after clearing the log, and it force closes while reading the SD Card, which prevents me from using the phone for at least two or three minutes on boot.
I can boot recovery with the Quick Boot app, but it does me no damn good, since I can't make any selections without the volume buttons.
I need some serious help. Is there a way to get this thing a new ROM while I build up the cash needed to buy a new one???

you are rooted i assume?
you can use terminal emulator and open the app and use teh following commands:
su
reboot recovery
(or you can use)
reboot download
however this requires root, so if you go odin back to stock then you cant use it. as far as your issue in cwm and cant scroll etc, unfortunately cant do anything about that. my suggestion would be to odin back to stock and "suffer" for a few weeks

adb reboot download
adb reboot recovery

work without root if you know how to use adb ;)

Well, the issue is moot. I have a new phone. :P The old, crappy Admire is going to be parted out on E-Bay.... Ol' Faithful held on, even to the last (I couldn't get that one last screw to f***ing come loose for the longest) :P
