New S2 user in Canada!

Hey. Just picked up the GS2 from Rogers in Canada. Love it so far.

I upgraded from an Xperia X10. I loved that phone but it was starting to get slow and too many bugs. I needed something faster and sleeker.

Anything special I should look for with this phone? Or is it basically just a same Ol Adroid? Seems like everything is basically the same.


Im choosing NOT to root this phone or do anything crazy to it. Just too many things can go wrong when you tinker with a phone too much and im not genius enough to fix it lol..


my only questions so far are: there is no slide unlock on this phone? you just slide to get it to the home screen but there is no slide 'unlock'???

and where is the notification light? Like if a text or message is waiting isnt there a light on the phone that flashes blue or something? I cant find it? right to the left of the samsung logo? if thats it, how do you turn on the light so when a text is waiting it flashes?

There is not LED light on this phone I do miss it as well but no big deal. If you would like a cool slide locker then I recommend Widget locker it has some awesome locks on it. My last phone was the Desire and I did like it but does not compaire to this phone. This phone is pretty good.

thats terrible there is no notification LED!

why cant I find a invisible shield screen protector on amazon for this phone? could anyone link me to a cheap invisibleshield for the galaxy S2 please?

You dont need to root to do it, but you should update to 2.3.5 if Rogers hasn't already. I went from 4 hours of screen time per charge to 6+ when i updated it.
