Root New SD card...simple root question

Hey guys!

I'm already rooted.

Upgrading to a larger sd card.

Do I need to transfer all of the root files (the stuff that was put on the sd card during the root process, all of my roms, kernels, etc) on my old sd card to my new one to maintain root?

I understand that I would have to transfer all of the roms and kernels to my new one if I want to use them again, but if I don't transfer anything to my new one, will I still be rooted running my current rom that I have?

Thanks in advance!

all you should need to do is copy all files from the old sd to new and you will be g2g if you use apps2sd look here:
how to replace SD card after apps2sd - xda-developers

That's only for apps though right?

I'm mainly concerned about whether I have to transfer all of the root files (pcimage-whatever and all other files that were placed on my sd card during the root process) to my new sd card to stay rooted.

If you just take out your SD card and jam a new one in there you will still be rooted and still have all of your normal functionality. You just won't have anything on your card....like music....apps2sd.....roms...kernels....backups....etc.... Like has been said before, you can copy all of that stuff to your desktop and then restore it manually when you get your new card installed.

The root of your question is "What is stored on the SD card and what is stored in the phone's memory". Once you understand the answer to that question, then you have the answer to your original question.

If you were to just take out the SD card and fire up the phone without any card inserted, I am thinking the phone would work just fine....rooted or not. That right there answers your question. Just think that everything that is needed to run the phone is ON the phone...and not on the SD card.

Somebody plz correct me if I am wrong.
